The Jordan Brand is spreading its wings into the “lifestyle” category with these sneakers. The PHLY’s straightforward style takes on the simplicity of Chuck Taylor’s along with other classic basketball sneakers that go as far back as the 1950’s. They were inspired by MJ’s influential high school basketball coach Clifton “Pop” Herring, and their simple design begs for them to be executed in a variety of colors, materials and patterns.
Time and time again we have seen Jordan Brand using classic color schemes taken from signature Air Jordan models and incorporating them into their newly designed models. Some have pleased us, others not so much. Here we have one such model which does exactly that and barrows a color scheme from a classic, an Air Jordan PHLY Legend in a colorup to resemble the Air Jordan XI “Playoffs”. The shoe consist of a predominantly black leather upper highlight with hits of white wrapping around the toe of the shoes on both the upper and mid-sole, with a slight hit of white on the heel near the ankle.
